Goodbye Season 9, hello Season X
After a long 12 weeks of Season 9, with multiple events taking place in game, we have finally come to the 10th season. Fortnite Season 10, or now called Season X, brings back some of your favorite skins in an epic remaster. Not only that, but it brought back the place we all knew and loved, Dusty Depot.
Epic had been releasing teasers since the World Cup Finals, hinting at a time-bending concept which would bring Dusty Depot back. People had been making speculations about the teasers, coming up with stories of their own regarding what will happen in the new season. The final teaser for Season X showed the orb in Loot Lake exploding, altering space and time sending default skin Jonesy in some sort of a time-rift.
Season X is here, what did it bring?
The second teaser for Season X had everyone guessing what the mech-robot looking thing possibly is, but now their questions have been answered. Season X brings you the B.R.U.T.E, a mech-suit that is commandeered by two people, where one drives and one goes guns blazing. Worry not if you’re a lone wolf, as you can commandeer the vehicle alone, switching between movement and going rambo.
Fortnite Season X Battle Pass
A new Fortnite season means a wide array of skins and items divided in a hundred tiers. The Battle Pass costs 950 Vbucks – around $10 – but this time you can gift the Battle Pass to your friends too! Go help that buddy out who is still sitting with default skins. However; the ability to gift the Battle Pass will last till August 15th, so make sure you gift it to whoever you deem worthy. There’s a new way of doing missions too! Read more about that and more on Fortnite’s official news bulletin.
It can be seen, through the trailer and the images of the skins, that they indeed are previous skins revitalized, such as DJ Yonder,a female Drift skin, and the tier 100 skin being an epic transformation of the Black Knight from Season 3.
That pesky little orb made the island go bonkers. There are rift zones spread across the map, where old locations are beginning to re-appear, so get your adventure hats on and go solve the mystery with your friends!
Time is twisted and the Zero Point has become volatile in Season X. Whether you’re nostalgic for the past or excited for the future, there will be plenty for you to discover all Season long. Locations once thought to be lost have begun to appear on the island, but they aren’t the same as they once were… ~Fortnite
What got vaulted this time?
Similar to every season, where we have to say a sad goodbye to some items we’ve become accustomed to, Fortnite Season X has thrown away some few things to the vault:
- Quad Crasher
- Flint Knock Pistol
- Shadow Bomb
- Semi-Auto Sniper
- Tactical Assault Rifle
- Mounted Turret
- Air Strike
- Itemized Glider Redeploy (still available in large team modes)
Whats bugging everyone is the fact that Glider Redeploys got taken away again, but Epic had the following to say:
Over time, we have added many mobility options, both itemized and map-based. We feel that Season X is better experienced with a reduction in mobility. As with all changes, we’ll keep a close eye on how this affects the player experience.
What annoying bugs got fixed?
- Fixed the Heavy Shotgun not piercing through water in modes where it is available.
- All Campfires now heal vehicles.
- The Storm Scout Sniper Rifle no longer has perfect hip-fire accuracy after aiming down sights.
- Boogie Bombs and Grenades no longer pass through vehicles.
- Fixed an issue involving players getting stuck under a ramp as it’s placed.
